Delete Your Cal.AI Account and Data

Cal.AI — AI calorie & food tracker

This page explains how to request deletion of your Cal.AI account and the personal data associated with it. Cal.AI accounts are created by signing in with Google or Apple. Cal.AI is published on Google Play by yuepengjie and on the App Store by BYTEMEDIA PTE. LTD.

Delete in the app (immediate)

Android: open Cal.AI › Settings › Delete account, then confirm.
iOS: open Cal.AI › Me › Account › Delete Account, then confirm. If you signed in with Apple, the app also revokes Cal.AI's access to your Apple ID.

Deletion takes effect immediately and signs you out on all devices.

Deleting your Cal.AI account does not cancel a Cal.AI subscription. Cancel it first in Google Play (play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions) or in your App Store account settings (Settings › your name › Subscriptions); otherwise it keeps renewing.

Request deletion by email (if you no longer have the app)

From the email address you used to sign in to Cal.AI (your Google or Apple account email), send an email to kirbyyue@gmail.com.
Use the subject line Delete my Cal.AI account.
In the message, include the email address of the account you want deleted so we can locate and verify it.

If you signed in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, we only hold a private relay address. The simplest way to delete is to reinstall the app, sign in with the same Apple ID and use Me › Account › Delete Account. Otherwise email us from any address, say that you used Hide My Email and roughly when you created the account, and we will work out with you how to confirm the account is yours.

We verify that the request comes from the account owner, then permanently delete the account. Requests are processed within 30 days. We will email you to confirm once the deletion is complete.

What data is deleted

When your request is completed, the following are permanently removed from our servers:

Your account profile — email address, name, avatar, and Google / Apple sign-in identifier
Your onboarding survey answers (age, height, weight, goals and related inputs), including weight history saved to your account
Your diet plan and daily calorie/macro targets
Your sign-in sessions on all devices
The link between your account and your devices' push-notification registration

What data is kept, and for how long

Data stored on your device

Your food diary, meal photos, app preferences, and, on iPhone, the active energy and steps read from Apple Health are stored only on your device, not on our servers, and are removed when you uninstall Cal.AI. Your current weight and weight history (including, on iPhone, weigh-ins imported from Apple Health) are also saved to your Cal.AI account while you are signed in and are deleted from our servers when your account is deleted. Food photos sent for analysis are not stored on our servers.
